Saturday in Central Park

Today was the first day that I have ever been to Central Park! It was amazing.

This is my view
Sniffing grass

Eating Sticks!
Relaxing.
And then I learned after a day at the park you have to go to sleep early.

Disappointment

For the past 8 weeks my dad has been talking about the event of Tuesday evening. He was so excited, he couldn't wait. His dreams of time spent with me would finally be fulfilled on Tuesday evening. Tuesday evening was the day I received my final of 3 series of vaccinations so I could finally go out and play in the park.

My dad was excited as we headed towards the vet. We met my mom midway and it was all my dad could talk about. "After this we go straight to the dog park!" My mom couldn't believe how excited he was. I was excited, a park, if my dad was excited it had to be fun (and hopefully tasty) I couldn't wait!

When we got to the vet I could feel the anticipation, it was pure excitement. We walked into the examination room, I ate like 50 treats. And then the doctor gave me my shot! My dad jumped for joy, and said 'can we take him to the park'. And then the dreaded words 'We like to wait a week for it to kick in' the vet could have told him that he was adopted, anything but that! His face dropped, my mom put her hand on his knee, and said 'its going to be ok'

I didn't know what to do. The moment was devasting. So I did all I could do, I walked up to him, put both paws on his knees and gave him the "its ok Dad, I'll wait!" look, and wagged my tail.

He smiled, and it was like all the cares went away. Today I learned that to make everything ok is that all you need to do is get real close wag your tail and smile.

The secret of housetraining.

This whole housetraining this is pretty amazing. You see, people always want you to go outside and "do your business", once I have done that I get a treat. Its really great. So anyway. . .

On Sunday night I surprised my parents with my amazing brilliance as I was ready to go to the bathroom, I walked over to the door and cried until they took me out! My mom was shocked! My dad was in awe! I could have easily pooped gold and I don't think they would have been as excited.

Once they were on top of cloud nine I decide that I would keep them on their toes. My dad's computer was sitting on the floor, as he was apparently doing work or something that was more important than playing with me. So as he left it on the floor, I decided that I would walk over stand on top of it and pee all over it. It was so much fun, especially for the fact that immediately afterwards my dad grabbed me and carried me downstairs for some quality outdoor time.

I learned that peeing on things when you are young, is so much fun!

Jazz to soothe the savage beast

All weekend long it rained and I had to stay in the house, except for the brief and wet moments when I went outside to "take care of business". But at around 3:30 the rain stopped and the sky cleared and I went for walk with my parents. We made it down near Soho and stopped as we heard beautiful sounds from two people blowing into metal objects. Apparently they were blowing in saxophones and playing Jazz.

It was really beautiful, and I learned that even though New York is always busy and crazy, its ok to stop, grab a seat and listen to some music.

Little Bugs

So this morning we went to the park again! It was loads of fun, but I was pretty tired. This is me in the elevator.
I kind of didn't want to go.

But eventually I got coerced

And had a great time for a little bit.
I played with my dad for a while

Until I found bugs!
I learned that they are kind of like itty bitty dogs

But when you try to bite their ears or play with them, they disappear. . .

Ball in the park

This morning my dad and I walked over to the park and played on the basketball court. We threw the ball around, but I learned that a tennis ball is a bit too big for my mouth. Hopefully next week I will be big enough to hold a tennis ball.

A wonderful time with Sydney!

I have been having a marvelous time in Chicago with my grandparents' dog Sydney. She is so patient and nice, though I learned that I can bite her ear, but if I try to climb on top of her when she is sleeping, she doesn't really like that.

Flying to Chicago

So I flew to Chicago, and I sat under the seat. But I learned that just like some of us dogs sometimes people smell different. The people in the seat above me, were from a very far and underdeveloped country, they were very nicely dressed, and seemed to have traveled from very far away. They didn't smell so good to my parents, but between you and I thought they smelled great!

Gas

The oddest thing happened one morning that I forgot to write about, you see the night before my mom was making dinner and she had carrot shavings in the garbage. Well as you can imagine I had to check them out, so I climbed into the garbage and stuffed my face full of them. My mom then removed as many as she could, but don't worry I still swallowed some. Anyway the thing was that the next morning, I had really wet uncomfortable you know what, but the weirdest thing was everytime I went, I made this odd "pfft" noise from under my tail. Any everytime it happen, it scared the s&*$t out of me, I jumped! No kidding, but I did learn that green vegetables tend to make noises come out from under my tail.

Living in the City

Yesterday I found this small areas within tons of traffic. It had this live green stuff growing on it, so I ran and ran and ran. It was amazing. The area was small, but I ran in large circles. The green stuff was soft, I think it was called grass.

Crate training (aka no more wee pads)

As I am sure you can guess, getting older means time to put away my childish things, so with that my parents have decided that I will put away my wee pads and behave like an adult. So I spend a bit more time in my crate and less in my room, but the best thing is that I learned that I get to go outside ALL THE TIME! Though to be honest I am still not really enjoying going number 2 outside, too much action going on.

Annoying interuptions

You know, most of my posts are gentle and sweet, but to be honest sometimes I have to air it out. The other night my dad took me out for my 45 minute wait to poop quality time with him, and this guy stands about ten feet away and goes "awww he's so cute, are you trying to get him to go to the bathroom?"

My dad responds "yup"
He stands their starring for a minute, with a dumb grin
The man goes "awww what is he? A golden retreiver?"
My dad responds "yup"
He stands their starring for a minute, with a dumb grin, this time saying awwwww a bit
The man then says "been trying for a while to get him to go?"
My dad says "yup, 45 minutes" avoiding conversation, and trying to get me to focus. How can I focus when someone is starring at me? Imagine someone sitting in the bathroom starring at you on the toilet.
He stands there saying awww some more, then asks "how old is he?"
My dad goes "grrr 12 weeks" obviously getting pissed off.
The guy keeps saying aww and now tries to get me to come over by making a clicking noise. But my dad won't let me go, glaring at the guy.
Finally the guy goes "am I distracting him?"
My dad then says "Yup, I am trying to get him to take a shit."
The guy looks a little shocked.
I mean come on now how ridiculous can people be. . . I learned that some people are dumb.

Terror!

I learned that its a real good thing that I am cute, because I am now starting to let it out a little and cause some trouble. After 45 mins outside with my dad before I finally gave him a poop, I came inside, threw water all over my room, ripped up my "wee wee pad" and made a huge mess. It was kind of nice because he came in and cleaned it all up. He had just gotten out of the shower so I wanted to remind him that its more fun if I hang out in the bathroom while he gets ready than in my room. AHHHH being a puppy is so fun!

Snowing in NYC

Today was my first snowstorm. . . In April. . . Odd. I decided I didn't want to go out during lunch, and brave it. I think my mom didn't either.

lunch time poops

Today I learned that when my dad comes home for lunch to give me a hug, some food, and take me out, if I don't poop, he will wait longer and longer.

Early morning poops

So today I learned that if I go number 2 at the crack of dawn, I can get my dad, who looks like he is still asleep to dance like an idiot and cheer for the entire neighborhood to hear. Its AMAZING!
